In the current society, fashion companies are in a continuous process of dynamism to adapt to the clients’ needs. Among them Halara – a relatively new brand, which has recently become very popular due to its comfortable and stylish sportswear and leisure wear. Despite such a popularity of the product, there are inevitable issues as to the portrayal of sustainable living by this brand and its ethics based on the fashion industry.
Is Halara fast fashion or a brand that sells items that will remain in people’s wardrobes season after season? The current world is characterized by labels, but are they really willing to join the green initiative, or are just a label to the environment’s detriment?
Halara: Overview
Halara is making waves in the fashion world, particularly in the realm of activewear. Founded with a mission to blend style and functionality, they cater primarily to those who prioritize comfort while staying fashionable.
Halara was founded in 2019 with the goal of providing women with trendy and affordable clothing. They offer a wide range of styles, from activewear to loungewear to dresses and more. Their products are primarily sold online through their website, With an emphasis on affordability, Halara appeals to budget-conscious shoppers without compromising on quality.
Their online presence has flourished as more consumers look for convenient shopping options that fit their lifestyles. With trendy designs and vibrant colors, it’s easy to see why many consider them one of the go-to brands for athleisure apparel today.
Is Halara Sustainable Enough? Environmental Impact
Halara presents a blend of style and comfort, appealing to many with its trendy athleisure offerings. Its focus on affordability often raises questions about environmental sustainability.
On the positive side, Halara incorporates some eco-friendly materials in its production processes. The brand uses recycled fabrics that reduce waste and promote resource conservation. Additionally, their commitment to minimizing packaging reflects an awareness of environmental issues.
However, there are notable concerns as well. Fast fashion tendencies can lead to overproduction and excessive waste, overshadowing the benefits of sustainable materials. Critics argue that rapid turnover in styles promotes a culture of disposability rather than long-term use.
The balance between fashionable designs and responsible manufacturing practices remains delicate for Halara. As they grow, the challenge lies in enhancing sustainability while maintaining appeal amongst consumers seeking trendy apparel.
Hype About Halara as Fast Fashion
I’ve ignored everybody discussing “is halara fast fashion” for long enough, Your standards are too high. I’ve waited because I’m like, Molly, it’s not gonna live up to your expectations.
Everybody’s over-hyping this, and I feel like one of my toxic traits is I have high expectations for clothes. My standards for the quality I’m expecting are always so high that when I do these reviews, I am always disappointed. So, I’m like, how is this gonna go? But everybody talks about how comfy it is, and frankly, I’m gonna be so real with you right now.
Is Halara Fast Fashion?
Halara has gained popularity for its trendy and affordable activewear. Many shoppers enjoy the fresh styles and frequent new releases. But this raises a vital question: is Halara fast fashion?
Fast fashion typically refers to brands that quickly churn out clothing based on the latest trends, often sacrificing quality for quantity. Halara’s model seems aligned with this definition, as they frequently update their offerings to keep up with consumer demand.
However, some argue that not all quick-turnaround fashion labels are inherently harmful. The price point at which Halara operates attracts a broader audience looking for accessible activewear options.
Halara promotes itself as a brand offering versatile activewear and loungewear suitable for various lifestyles. While Halara releases new collections frequently and keeps up with trends, it’s not entirely classified as traditional fast fashion. Here’s why:
- Quality Over Quantity: Unlike typical fast fashion brands that focus solely on churning out inexpensive clothing, Halara emphasizes quality materials and durability.
- Transparency in Manufacturing: Halara claims transparency in their manufacturing process, ensuring fair labor practices and ethical production standards.
- Community Engagement: They engage with their community to gather feedback and improve their products, focusing on customer satisfaction rather than just sales.
To fully assess whether Halara fits into the fast-fashion category requires digging deeper into their production practices and sustainability efforts. This exploration reveals nuances in how we define responsible shopping today.
Determining whether Halara falls under the umbrella of fast fashion or stands as an advocate for timeless style boils down to personal perspective combined with individual values regarding sustainability and longevity in garment purchasing decisions.
Each shopper will weigh these factors differently based on their experiences, needs, and ethical considerations surrounding fashion consumption today.
Is Halara Ethical?
When exploring if Halara is ethical, it’s crucial to consider several factors. The brand promotes inclusivity and body positivity through its diverse sizing options. This emphasis on representation resonates with many consumers.
However, ethical fashion also encompasses labor practices. Transparency in manufacturing processes is essential for confirming fair treatment of workers. While Halara has made strides in this area, detailed information about their supply chain remains sparse.
Additionally, consumer feedback plays a significant role in assessing ethics. Many customers express satisfaction with product quality and affordability but raise concerns about sustainability efforts.
To truly understand if Halara upholds ethical standards, one must delve deeper into both production methods and corporate responsibility initiatives. Engaging with the community can help shed light on these aspects further as shoppers demand more accountability from brands they support.
The Challenge of Trying on Halara Clothes While Sick
I am currently a bit sick, but that is not gonna stop me from trying on these clothes. If there’s one thing that makes me energetic and happy in life, it’s fashion, even though I am not very fashionable right now. I am truly in my comfy, cozy sick wear. But I’m gonna get out of this and put on hopefully some other comfy clothes because that’s why I made this order.
Unsponsored Halara Review
This is an unsponsored, unpaid review of Halara. We have all seen them peppering our TikTok feeds, our Instagram feeds; they have infiltrated YouTube as well. We’ve all seen the sponsored videos, the free gifted products. I paid for all of this with my own money. Thank you for the Black Friday sale because I was able to pick up quite a few pieces.
The Quest for Comfort in Fashion
Honestly, if there’s one thing I prioritize in my life, it is comfort in my fashion, but ideally still looking like I’m not currently, you know? Like right now I’m fully in sweatpants. There’s no denying it. But I like to feel like I’m in sweatpants but not look it. That’s my dream every single day.
High Expectations and Initial Hesitations
My standards for the quality I’m expecting are always so high that when I do these reviews, I am always disappointed. So, I’m like, how is this gonna go? But everybody talks about how comfy it is, and frankly, I’m gonna be so real with you right now.
The Search for Fake Jeans
The real reason I want to try this is because I have been looking for fake jeans, not even jeggings. I’m gonna be real. I’m looking for fully fake jeans, and Rag and Bone makes some that are like something like $300 for not even real jeans.
They look real, but they feel like sweatpants. But I can’t justify that. So, I was looking at alternatives, and Free People has some pull-on ones, like no button, no zip, no nothing jeans.
But they’re like $70. The problem is they’re flared, which is so cute. And that’s the look I want. I want the flare. But we all know as a petite gal, that gets chopped right off when we go to get those hemmed.
Influencer Recommendations
I saw Mia Maples and Carrie Dayton both talk about the Halara magic fake jeans that are pull-on just like the Rag and Bone and Free People. They’re flared, and they came in petite. Most of what I got is pants.
I feel like Halara is really known for their dresses and skirts. I got a lot of pants because it is so rare to find petite fashion. Really, I wanted to do this because
- I needed to try these jeans because they were like $35 or something like that compared to 380, and they have petite.
- So, for my girls who are petite on a budget and prioritize comfort, this blog is for you.
Trying on the Clothes
Halara Jeans
Let’s start with the reason we’re here. Okay, I’m getting hot. I’m sweating, going between cold and hot, classic. It’s almost like I’m sick or something. Okay, so these are they. Their sizing is very interesting.
One thing I appreciate is that you don’t have to click on the size guide. It literally will say like extra small, dash zero to two, small, dash four to six. Like they tell you. I might be getting the sizes wrong. Anyways, I got everything in the zero to two. So, that is what these are.
Look how short they are. And flared, they’ve got the flare. I got this dark blue denim, . Denim in quotes. So stretchy, they don’t even have a button or zip. They have the crisscross waistband, almost like a pair of leggings.
But they do have real pockets on the front and back. I got this color because honestly, all the others were sold out, and I just desperately wanted this flared style. They do have these in other styles, like they have a wide-leg jean.
Those were all sold out, or I would’ve also picked those up. I’m gonna be real. They had a skinny jean. That’s not really my vibe at this point. But they do have different styles, and they also have tall for my tall girls, and I believe they have some plus sizing. So, we love the inclusivity. It’s rare.
Chemical Smell Issue
Now the big thing I must tell you is that these smelled so horrendously filled with chemicals like formaldehyde or something. Mia and Carrie did not mention that in their review. So, I don’t know if it’s just my pair or if theirs smelled and they didn’t mention it, but I have a hard time believing that they wouldn’t.
It smelled hard to keep in the house. We had to put them outside, we washed them, didn’t put a dent in it. We soaked them for an hour in vinegar.
Then my mom soaked them in detergent and stain remover and then washed them again twice. They almost smell like nothing now except Tide. But they do still smell at the waistband. We are so determined to get this smell out.
Fit and Style
Okay, I’m gonna try them on. I am back in my fake legging jean things, and I’m obsessed. I ASKED TO Mom, are these not so cute? MOM told me that ,They’re so cute. The fit is amazing. The length is amazing. You’re not losing your flare at all.
Styling Tips
I wanna show you how I wanna style this. ‘Cause I know that not everybody would wanna wear jeans where the waistband looks so fake, and that’s fine. Like you just wear something baggy and oversized that covers it and literally nobody would ever know that these aren’t actual jeans. So cute, right?
Halara Overalls
Next, I’m gonna hit you with another banger, overalls. Comfy, flowy overalls. I am so excited about these. These came in, I think, two colors: black and a peachy color. I don’t have a pair of black overalls, and we all know your girl loves overalls.
I love a one-piece. This is like this waffle material that everybody is raving about. They have these waffle pants that have been one of the most buzzed about things that they have. They do come in petites and talls.
These did not, like I will have to get these hemmed, but that’s how much I love overalls that I was like, hmm, I’m gonna take the risk and get them anyways and I’ll get them hemmed. Because I’m very used to having to get my clothes hemmed because every short girl is, even Elton loves them. Actually, Elton loves everything I wear and everything I do because he’s in love. Whenever he gets overcome with emotion towards me, I’m just like, it’s okay. It’s just love. It’s love.
Fit and Details
Okay, now let’s get back to the important stuff. These overalls are so cute. So, they have three. Okay, so it has three buttons. I’m on the tightest ’cause you know, short, but I love that it has the three button options.
So, if you’re taller, these will still work. They’re like nice and low on the sides but not too low. That’s what the back looks like. I love all the details. It has a little pocket in the front and then these two pockets right here.
All of this pleating is so nice. There’s a little bum pocket on the one side. They’re nice and wide-legged. I already know my mom’s gonna be stealing these from me.I would highly recommend if you love overalls and comfort, these are for you.
Halara Leggings
Basic High-Waisted 7/8ths Legging
I have two pairs of leggings. This is the first pair. This is their basic high-waisted 7/8ths legging.
They did have them in petite, which is what I got. These are in the color Warm Sand. They’ve got a pocket on either side, which is great. A lot of people love that. They’ve got a nice thick waistband. And then this is the length. I think it’s great. They’re really comfy. They’re really soft.
They’re not quite as soft as Lululemon, like they’re not quite that buttery feel, but I also feel like sometimes Lululemon can almost be too buttery and they feel like they’re gonna slip off of you. These almost feel like they’re gonna stay on. They’re not as spandex-y as a Gymshark, but they’re really nice and comfy. I would say these are probably gonna end up being some of my go-to leggings for sure. I’m just like giving the full squat test right now.
Full-Length Criss-Cross Leggings
I’m really excited about these because they have a crossover waistband. I got these in two colors. These are the Full-Length Criss-Cross Leggings. I think they have these in cropped as well, but I went with the full length. These did not come in petite, which is fine.
They’re a little long on me, but that’s what I expect. Look at the waistband. It’s got that nice crisscross detail. They come up really high, which I love. I hate when they’re not high enough and they cut you in the weird spot, so I love the height of these. These are in the color Ice Flow. So, they’ve got a seam up the front, and that’s the back.
No pockets on these, but really, really comfy. Again, not quite as soft as Lululemon, but I would say the same amount of stretch and comfort, just a little more stiff. But again, I think they’ll soften up. I think the crossover is super flattering. Like I said, they don’t have petite, but these are the length on me. It’s not bad at all. For reference, I am 4’8”¾. I feel like that’s relevant when we’re talking about length here.
Halara Matching Set
Crop Tee in Black
Okay, now the last thing I got is a matching set, which I’m really excited about. They’ve got a lot of matching sets, but this one I felt like was the comfiest looking. This is the Crop Tee in Black.
I think this is just like a really great basic tee, honestly. Like even if you’re not wearing it with the matching set, this is a great go-to tee. It’s got like a V-neck, but it’s not too deep. It’s just like a really flattering cut, and I love that it’s cropped but not too cropped. It’s got the seam across the back, which I think is really cute.
Comfy Wide-Leg Pants in Black
Then the bottoms. Oh my God, these are so comfortable. These are the Comfy Wide-Leg Pants in Black. They’ve got a really nice thick waistband, which I love. It’s got pockets. I just love the flow of these. They’re like a soft jersey material. I think they had these in a couple of colors. I went with black ’cause I felt like it was a really good basic.
I think this is so cute together. It’s almost like pajamas, but you could also dress it up a little bit and wear it out. I just think this is so cute. This is the length on me. They did have these in petite. So, these are the petite length, which is perfect for me. Again, I’m 4’8”¾ for reference. I am obsessed with these. I think these are gonna be my new go-to comfy outfit.
